Angela Renne, Director of Global & Public Health who also co-heads our Sales and Marketing team, sat down with us for a quick chat about everything from education to travel to her favorite food.

Where are you from? Where did you go to school?

I am from Clarksville, MD (right in between DC and Baltimore) and went to undergrad at Duke University. I have lived all over though and moved three times during childhood, but I have a professed love for crabcakes, so I identify with being from Maryland.

What is the best part of working for iSolace Inc.?

The best part of working for iSolace has been the people. I have truly enjoyed getting to know the team and seeing the various talents that everyone has. We are from different backgrounds and excel in different areas, and I have learned so much from everyone and gained new skills and insights as a result.

Describe your role at iSolace Inc.

My role within iSolace is outreach and public relations, where I help to expand the reach of our company and to address roles that we can play in the realm of global and public health. Currently, I am working on a research feasibility study of COVIAGE in a low-resource setting of a hospital in Lomé, Togo.

What facet of the company are you most excited to be working on?

Having a background in public and global health, I am particularly interested in the impact that we can have in mitigating health disparities by providing cost-effective and convenient devices that address prominent problems in provision and administration of healthcare.

Favorite place in the world?

My favorite place in the world is New Zealand. In particular, I love the South Island, being surrounded by beautiful scenery, a plethora of sheep, and hiking in various terrains.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

My favorite thing to do outside of work is gardening, and I have been working with a local organization in nutritional education and provision of fresh produce for the past 6 years.

What is one food you can’t live without?

One food I could never live without is cauliflower. Weird, but it is so versatile and can be anything it wants to be if it tries hard enough! Steak, rice, pizza dough, tortillas, you name it!

Any other fun facts?

I have been an avid and competitive rock climber since high school and an experimental baker!
